Day 3
Why I want to lose weight:So, why lose weight? Truth is, I don't look too bad (because I'm tall and because from certain angles, and with certain clothes, the extra weight - >20% of my total body weight! - doesn't show); it isn't (only) a vanity issue. The issue is health; as I approach age 61, I have weight-related health issues: high-blood pressure, and high cholesterol, and I'm pre-diabetic (a status I've had for at least 2+ years, might as well just say, I'm diabetic). IThe medicine I take for these problems is very expensive, and with my new medical plan, more expensive than ever. I believe, if I can get my weight under control, I can mitigate or alleviate these issues. At least, that's what my doctor says. Also, I have bad knees from when I was a bit more athletic - the extra weight puts extra, sometimes painful, stress on them. They are begging me to reduce their workload.
Those are the good reasons. The less good reason is that I don't like some of the pictures I've seen of myself playing bass. I want to look just a little more rock'n'roll.
Day 3 Food
Breakfast
Sauteed baby spinach and black beans with two large organic eggs scrambled in coconut oil, with salsa and a cuppa. |
Lunch
Dinner
Sauerkraut for an appetizer, 1/2 lb. organic, grass-fed, 93/7 chopped beef with black beans and salsa, and 3/4 lb. of steamed green beans with soy sauce and Mrs. Dash. |
Not pictured are a couple of cups of black coffee I had during the day. Total water intake was a little less than 3L of seltzer.
Please comment, question, criticize - let me know you're paying attention!Today is also the first day supplementing with PAGG (policosanol x 1[before bed], ALA, Green Tea Extract, and Deodorized Garlic x 4[before meals and bed]).
It's been a good day. I'm beginning to plan my Saturday binge. Mmmm, chocolate.
