Daily Comment

I recently read that intention was the mover and shaker of our worlds. Nothing happens without the force of intention behind it.

This makes sense to me, as our subconscious, unconscious and conscious intentions dictate where we put our attention, and how we attempt to get stuff for our personal stories.

I don't know whether to talk about why I believe this to be true (it may actually be not-very-well thought out, because it seems intuitively obvious to me) or some of the interesting implications.

OK, one interesting implication/extension.

If, as I believe, the Universe (as much as we can know it) is a continuum of vibrating energy, and that this energy is all-inclusive, then our intentions themselves are vibrational energy; and these intention vibrations are part of and interacting with all the other energy in the Universe.

Which means that our intentions are both part of and an influence on the vibrational characteristic of the Universe. Which means that our intentions have an effect (vibrations interact, and change characteristics due to that interaction).

Our intentions then, affect our environment subtly but definitely, I think those changes in the environment influence our perceptions (another aspect of the vibrational unity, although circumscribed) and our awareness of what is going on around us. Thus, our intentions are part of a feed back loop that shapes our relationship between our selves and our environment, and  'move' us in the way we intend, producing the intended result.

Why then do we talk about unintended consequences, or 'best' intentions going awry? Because we are only aware of our conscious intentions, and there are a host of other thoughts and intentions below the surface. We put ourselves squarely in the path of results as intended, although most of our intent is below the level of our awareness.

I agree with your analysis of intention, but not with your conclusion.
“You are a fluke of the universe. Whether you believe it or not, the universe is laughing behind your back”.

I hesitate to use that quote, because it sounds a bit harsh. Never the less, I do find truth in that thought.
I think that what you say is true for HE-MAN, MASTER OF THE UNIVERSE, but not for me. My intentions go out and collide with billions and billions and billions of others' different intentions in the intention vibratory bandwidth and blend together and are reshaped , producing results that are different from any of the individual intentions. The sheer size of our universe and the amount of variables outside our knowledge and control, reduce our intentions to “spit in the ocean”. We can't impose our will on the outside other. By pure chance (at least from my point of view) ,when our intentions happen to be in alignment with the changes, something happens as intended. The best we can do is adjust to what the universe is offering, without attachment to our intentions or desires.

I totally agree with you, on the other hand. Although you seem to feel ( and display) that you have more power than I do in carrying out intention.
