It should go without saying that the last day of work before you go on vacation is always silly-busy.
When, half an hour before quitting time, my former manager (future second-line manager) asked when I was quitting for the day - it was the icing on the cake. She used that time to give me my annual review. Which wasn't the most unpleasant way to end the day, but it did make for an "interesting" end to the week.
Everything else ran smoothly - until I got to JFK, where there was a rolling delay that ended up with boarding an hour after the original departure time. The flight was good, though. But by the time I landed, I was shot. Totaled. I didn't check in at the motel until 2:30 (5:30am Eastern time), by which time I'd been up for almost twenty-four hours.
Going forward, I'm not going to try and exert any control over my diet. I intend to eat whatever I want whenever. This is a formula for weight gain - I'll deal with that when I get back home, or, more likely, after Thanksgiving, when I will attempt to get back to my 'regular' weight (that means +/- 200 pounds) by the end of the year.
