What does this mean? Probably nothing more than that I'm holding on to a little more water. Although far from dehydrated, I drank less than usual yesterday.

It may also mean that I have to cut back on the cheese a little, which is a shame, because I'm a cheese-o-phile (or whatever loving cheese is really called). Good cheese is like crack to me, and is the food I missed most on my previous diet.

Today I had my blood tested, and I'll get the results next week, but I know that some things have improved. Since I have had less than 100 grams of carbs in the last 5 days, my blood sugar should be, at worst, normal. Judging by my blood flow when they sampled me (believe it or not, I've been tested so often that I can actually eyeball this), my cholesterol is at the low end of normal.

Most importantly, I feel good and I like the way I'm looking...

I have stopped taking my statin drug for over a month, I am not concerned about my cholesterol and I believe my weight loss and new diet have solved that problem anyway. I am also done with Niaspan this week. It works as advertised, but it turns out that, for reasons I don't understand, even though it does a good job at raising HDL (good) cholesterol, and an ok job of lowering LDL cholesterol, long term, studies show this does nothing to improve outcomes for users: Patients still have heart attacks at the same rate, with or without it.

If you remember way back, one of my goals was to reduce the number of medications I am taking... and I am succeeding with that. There is only one left, for high blood pressure, and I'm pretty sure that one is not going to be around much longer. I can't remember when the last time my blood pressure was high, although I haven't been real good about checking it lately. Might be time to start...
