May 19, 2012: Post 140, Day 140 - Cheat Day

May 19, 2012

Daily Comment
The day began with a drive to the store I bought my auto tires at, to get a flat fixed. The flat happened last night, and I changed it myself to save time.

Turns out, the flat was caused by 2 nails and two screws.

How does that happen? Well, presumably, driving in a construction site. Bur I haven't done that.

Anyway, taking care of that was the first order of business after breakfast, which was not as typically late as usual.

My thinking about cars these days is, that after 13 years, my very comfortable, practical Honda Odyssey is a bout to give up the ghost. I am hoping that it will keep running until my next birthday, when I will do a 3-year lease on something more efficient and practical. The savings in gas should offset the monthly lease cost nicely.

And it will be exciting shopping for a new car, something I haven't done in decades (I didn't shop for the Odyssey. I knew exactly what I wanted and just ordered it).

I have to tell you. Those green shakes look awful.

They looked better before I started putting up that picture when I drank one.

However, they taste a little better than they look, and aren't hard to drink.

Still, they're primarily a nutrient delivery vehicle, not a culinary treat. As such, they are fabulous. Fresh kale, whey protein and a whole organic egg aren't individually very delicious, but putting them together with vanilla, cinnamon and stevia (and ice) makes them go down pretty easily.

I will stop putting up that pic. It takes up too much space in the blog, anyway.
