May 20, 2012: Post 141, Day 141 - Fast Day
Daily Comment
It feels like the second day of Spring today. I didn't do much, though. I spent some time reading the instruction manual for my new camera, which I picked up on Saturday.
It has a fully automatic mode, but anything outside of that requires a certain amount of mastery, and it has dozens of options to choose from. I am on the learning curve.
The user's manual is rather sparse, and the included DVD is pleasant, but rather useless, it is really a commercial, congratulating you over and over again on how smart you are to own a Nikon. Meh.
I've ordered a book on photography and a book dedicated to using this particular camera model - which contains a lot about photography as well. Both are excitingly recommended by purchasers on amazon.com.
I've also ordered quite a few accessories (an extension of the previous day's retail therapy).
All this excites the geek in me, but I have to get out and take some pictures soon!

Do you make the curry you eat? If not, where do you get it? I don't think my family likes curry all that much but I do so if it came in packets that might be good. I got concerned about Andy cos I talked to him and he had strep which might have delayed the hernia surgery. Then my phone told me you called so I am not sure whether that was the mother's day call or whether you called again. Anyway, love you
P.S.- new email from Phil Bromberg
No, I don't make it. It comes packaged in 'multi-serving' boil-in bags, but I always remove it from the bag and microwave it the way God intended.
I can get some of them in my grocery store, but they have a better variety (and usually less expensive) in Indian grocery stores, which aren't too difficult to find around here.
Some of the brands I buy are MTR, Swad, and Koh i Noor. Tasty Bite is another but, among all these inexpensive options (Swad is $1 a box!) it is comparatively expensive.
I spoke with Andy briefly on Saturday, and he didn't mention strep. The message you got was my second, a week after the Mother's Day message.
I saw the message from Phil.
Love you,
Ken
