May 21, 2012: Post 142 Day 142

Daily Comment
I don't know how this happened, but I got the books I ordered Saturday today, Monday. That means they were shipped Saturday and somehow moved through the transportation system in less than 36 hours. Wow.

Last night was a good night - I was out jamming and my sets were pretty good. It wasn't a great night for a lot of people coming out to listen, but there were some good musicians around, and that is really what makes it for players like me.

I get very excited and very happy in these situations - to the point where people notice and can see I'm having a good time. No, I'm not talking about tenting, I'm talking about smiling. 

People can easily discern a natural smile compared to a 'forced' smile. i don't know why anyone would ever bother to fake that. I see it, and I see it both ways: Scowls and smiles, both just poses. I'm not sure if it's just me (and I could always be wrong) but it seems like I can tell when these expressions are inauthentic. I guess it's par for the course for the visual entertainment aspect of musical performance, but it leaves me a little cold if the person can't pull it off and make it look natural.

Diet Comment:
I am a little disappointed to see today's weight gain, even though I feel entirely responsible for it,eating almost a day's worth of calories less than 6 hours before weighing myself. That's too much food too late at night and not enough sleep: A formula for weight gain.

Breakfast
Skipped.

Lunch
Kale smoothie: kale, almond milk, whey protein powder (36g protein), an egg, vanilla, cinnamon and stevia-inulin blend.

Snack
Pepperoni.

Dinner
Sauteed chicken breast, faux mashed potatoes (cauliflower, butter, almond milk, salt and pepper), Spring Mix greens, cabbage slaw with carrots and balsamic vinegar.


Snack
Baby carrots and home-made mayonnaise.

Liquid Intake
    Coffee:   32 oz,   Water:112+ oz
