This is my daily weight chart since ending the Slow-Carb diet. July 9 was the 1st measurement for Phase 1 for the 6 week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle. |
This is Day 45 post-Slow-Carb, Day 5 of Phase 1 from The 6-week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle, which lasts 14 days.
It is interesting that I am not losing weight, but that is really all I can say - it is interesting. I am ingesting massive amounts of protein every day - around 200g, probably more than ever in my life - and so far, feeling no ill effects.
Or, maybe I am. Yesterday and today, I have intermittent very-low-level headaches. I almost never in my life get headaches, because I usually am able to avoid or redirect the stress that typically induces a headache. The root cause is mysterious to me, but I have a guess: delayed onset caffeine withdrawal. That is my guess. For at least the last 6 months I have not missed more than a day of having a moderate-to-large amount of coffee, and for the last 5 days, none at all. Although, for the first couple of days, I did have a teensy-weensy amount of caffeine thanks to my "decaffeinated" green tea extract, which I realized - and eliminated - on Monday, two days ago, and two days after I started eliminating coffee.
Also: Rereading the "6 Week Cure" book, I see that I may have been a literal too liberal with my vegetables in the past few days, so from now on, I am going to restrict my carb intake to salad greens for my one meal.

Lunch
The coconut cream pie version of the power shake: The basic Power-up shake (see breakfast) including the egg, but substituting a 1/2C coconut milk for 1/4C of the water, using 1T of sugar-free hazelnut syrup instead of 1/2t stevia-erythritol blend, and adding 1/2t of coconut extract.
Snack
Same as breakfast, but without the egg (I took it to work, and had it around 3:30pm).
