With the poor scale results this morning, I decided to change things up a bit.
First, I decided to go back to an Inductance-style diet between now and July 3 (my original goal date, the 1/2-year mark, and my sister's birthday - meaning, I may be bad that one day. Very bad).
I am going to look at another plan I am 'glancingly' familiar with, mainly that offered by Dr. Michael Eades (co-author of 'Protein Power' and prolific blogger: The Blog of Michael R. Eades, MD) and his wife Mary Dan, who are long-time advocates of low-carb solutions to overweight and other problems, and he writes clearly, critically, and persuasively on all sorts of nutritional matters. This is the short-term diet in their book, The 6-week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle.

Second, I skipped breakfast and had a 'diet' lunch. I expect to do a 'repeat' of this exact same schedule tomorrow. I'll be travelling during breakfast/lunch time, and it should be easy. We will see how things go, food-wise, on my little vacation visiting my sister in Massachusetts.
Third, I am cutting out nuts from my diet, as nuts are a proven trigger food for me, one that challenges and defeats whatever willpower or self-control I can muster, causing me to overindulge. Like cole slaw (which I am probably not cutting out, since that particular over-indulgence is not likely to result in any weight gain).
Fourth, I need to get some exercise. I intend to start that up easy this weekend with some intervals. Next week, I am going to take the first of 4 exercise classes to learn how to work out with kettlebells.
Lastly, I am going to work on getting more sleep. In general, this means curtailing some of my evening activities (playing). I don't like this idea a lot, and of the three, it is the hardest to implement, but I need more sleep than I'm getting.
