July 19, 2011: Day 51, Post 199

 Goal Weight: 188 pounds

Please leave a comment if you visit my blog. Thank you!

Today's Weight:        197.6 lbs
Yesterday's Weight:    200.2 lbs
Net Loss/Gain:         - 2.6 lbs
This is my daily weight chart since ending the Slow-Carb diet. July 9 was the 1st day of Phase 1 of The 6 week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle.

This is Day 51 post-Slow-Carb, Day 11 of Phase 1 from The 6-week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle, which lasts 14 days.

I was surprised by the rather sharp (more than a kilo!) weight loss today. The difference between today and yesterday: Not recovering from a workout; and  the 'real food' meal was dinner, not breakfast, and I was finished eating at 7:30pm (second salad).

In a way, I am not looking forward to the end of this phase of the plan, and for a few reasons. Of course, the primary one is that it has been very successful at dropping the weight - this is my lowest weight in many years. But also, it is very, very easy. Making most of your meals in a blender liberates you from a lot of cooking and cleaning. It is also pretty inexpensive, and minimizes shopping.

But just the same, I'm kind of looking forward to the next phase, which begins Saturday: The MEAT phase. This is pretty much the same as the induction phase for every low-carb diet: High fat, high protein, very low carbs (and no carbs from starch or sugar - I'll probably stick to salads, like I have been doing in Phase 1). It is possible, at the end of those two weeks, that I will be at or near my goal weight.
