This wasn't going to be a fast day, in fact, just the opposite. The intention was for this to be another cheat day, but...
I woke up very early with cramps. I think I was dramatically dehydrated from not drinking enough water yesterday, and having more than my usual - even when I am drinking, which is very rare - amount of alcohol. And, I was constipated. Very uncomfortable. So I cancelled the rest of my New York City weekend and drove home. I almost turned around halfway back, because I was feeling a little better, but didn't. During the drive, I drank more than a 1/2 gallon of water, and had another coffee. I stopped at a drug store on the way home, bought some glycerin suppositories, and 20 minutes after I arrived, I had some relief.
This continued for a couple of hours, then I felt mostly better. I ended my 24-hour Fast with a bowl of cereal and fruit, then I went out to say hello to some friends, played a little, fell asleep quickly.
Daily Comment
I was so disappointed early today - it was difficult and a little embarrassing to cancel out on the people I was planning on visiting. But pride notwithstanding, at the end of the day, I was sure it was the right thing to do.
