I went to the most beautiful wedding today. I was happy to be there, happy to see a few friendly faces at my friend and band-mate's wedding. The tone seemed very festive, everyone seemed appropriately joyous.I was left feeling like an other. My happiness for the bride and groom is genuine. But the ceremony, the socialization, the organized-to-a-tee program and reception, the beauty of the setting (it really was a beautiful place for a wedding and reception. Medieval splendor meets electricity) all seemed right. I felt apart.
Which was a little depressing. But just a little. These things are not for me. I am the Steppenwolfe.

I had an eighteen-hour mini-fast, before the wedding food kicked in. Remember what I said yesterday about not bothering to exercise will-power? It looked like it was going to be unnecessary - for the most part, I was easily able to stick to eating veggies and protein (the worst of it was cheese and nuts, but that's not too bad).
Then came the desserts and the desserts and the desserts, and the wedding cake.
I held to the no-restraint policy I had consigned myself to.
Tomorrow I fast.
