There we are. 30 pounds lost since the beginning of the year, based on a conservative estimate of my weight at that time. Officially, I have lost 23.2 pounds in the 63 days since my first weigh-in on January 6 of this year. The 30 pounds comes from an estimate of my weight on New Year's Day, based on my recent weight in my doctor's office, and my feeling that I weighed at least that much (actually, I think more) 2 weeks later. I'd have had an actual weight, but discovered on my first attempt to weigh myself that my scale was busted.

I had dinner tonight at a place new to me, La Taqueria, in downtown Syracuse. It was very good. Mexican restaurants fit very well with this diet plan, since you actually can have the basic 3 (protein, beans, and vegetables) without really having to special-order anything (other than what you want left out:  tortillas, rice and cheese). I had a groupon that made it all really cheap, too. Wee, doggies! I'll let the picture and description below speak for itself.

Breakfast  
2 egg whites, 1 wholegg, black beans and cut leaf spinach in a coconut oil frita.

Lunch

Roast turkey off the bone with black beans and a vinaigrette dressing over Spring Mix greens.

Dinner

At La Taqueria: a Bare Burrito with marinated pork, black beans, onions, tomato, lettuce medium salsa, guacamole, and jalapeno pesto. This was very, very good. Eaten but not shown: homemade cole slaw.
