 Goal Weight: 188 pounds

Please leave a comment if you visit my blog. Thank you!

Today's Weight:        203.0 lbs
Yesterday's Weight:    203.4 lbs
Net Loss/Gain:         - 0.4 lbs
Daily weight from January 1, 2011.

Is this more proof that calories-in/calories-out don't affect weight in a meaningful way? I think so. Yesterday was one of the lowest-calorie days ever - probably less than 700 all day. This should have resulted in a 1400-calorie deficit, and should have been enough to knock more weight off, but no.

Actually, after today's normal eating day, I expect a larger weight loss at tomorrow morning's weigh-in.

Daily Comment
To be happy, I need to be playing bass. And not alone  (I only do that when I need to learn something. Otherwise, i don't practice by myself). It only works for me when I have other musicians around me, when I feel part of a group (no matter how random, temporary or short-lived that group is) creating music through interaction with other musicians. I also have a very personal idea about what role I have when playing, and that's what I do. My idea may not be as grand as the next bassist's, and may not be pointed at demonstrating my technical bass playing skills, such as they are.

Friends, when they see me playing, always remark about how playing transforms me - how it looks like I am in my element, belonging, confident, and happy.

They're right.
