Day 59
GOALS
- Goal date: March 26, 2011
- Weight goal: 206.0 pounds
- Total Inches goal: 120.9 inches
Today's Weight: 216.4
Yesterday's Weight: 216.4
Gain/Loss: - 0.0
I guess I am not surprised given yesterday's relatively high caloric intake, that I showed no change in weight. Although I was totally in-plan, last night's dinner included three vegetable dishes: a salad, coleslaw as a side dish, and vegetables with beans as another side dish. All three had fat-based dressings, and I wasn't shy about laying them on. It isn't difficult to imagine the oil in the vinaigrette (2T), cole slaw dressing (1/3C), and pesto mayonnaise (2-3T) might add 600 or more calories to the the meager amount in the vegetable dishes they supported, resulting in a meal that might have been 1,000 calories by itself. That's a lot for a single meal, much more than I'm used to.
I believe a regular day today may result in a nice weight loss tomorrow, but we'll have to see. Daily tracking tends to distort your view to more short-term stuff. The trend is moving in the right direction, now pointing down, and I expect to be very happy with the long-term results, since I am happy with the plan on a daily and weekly basis. I mean, I am in this for the long-term.

Today there was an article in the Times about coconut oil, one of my favorites. While it was a little bit light on the dietary implications of the turnaround in virgin coconut oil's acceptance as a not-the-devil-food it has been characterized as (the emphasis was on how it could be used in cooking, ie it's properties as a fat- and butter substitute), its overall tone was positive, making it one of the few mainstream press articles that isn't negative.
