This is my daily weight chart since ending the Slow-Carb diet. July 9 was the 1st day of Phase 1, and July 23 the start of Phase 2 of The 6 week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle. |
Back at the trend-line, weight-wise. And the chart direction is good.
Something I realized at lunch today: This is the first time that I have eaten at a restaurant in more than a month! I've come as close to it as you can: Rotisserie chicken from Wegman's, but not even a takeout meal since July 4, and that was immediately preceding my entry into the 6-Week Cure.
I chose my meal carefully: Mongolian grill (cooking on a hot manhole cover). About 50% beef and pork and 50% cabbage and broccoli. By volume. Hot sauce. 100% on-plan, and not an overwhelming quantity.
Of course, I like to cook, and I like the foods I prepare for myself, so no big deal, but when I get to my next eating plan that will change - remember, the current one is designed to be temporary, and will end after my next week of phase 1 (only 9 days from now!).
At least, a little.
In the next plan, I will always have one day a week to eat anything I want, and that day will probably consist of visits to restaurants; and not just for the convenience, but because that way, I don't have to have any of the "forbidden" foods at home. I do have a tendency to eat whatever is around when I get food cravings. What I don't eat in the restaurant, I'll leave there (no doggie bags for me).
