Yesterday's Weight: 201.0 lbs
Net Loss/Gain: - 0.0 lbs
This is my daily weight chart since ending the Slow-Carb diet. July 9 was the 1st day of Phase 1, and July 23 the start of Phase 2 of The 6 week Cure for the Middle-Aged Middle. |
This is the next-to-last-day of Phase 2, which was supposed to be about weight loss. In that sense, it is a major fail. I will not be repeating this phase.
I am not discouraged - this is one long experiment, and, until I am completely satisfied that I have reached my goal, in terms of my appearance and medical condition, the experment goes on. Self-experimentation is wholly valid.
I will, beginning on Saturday, do another week of phase 1, then, on the 13th, I will have a cheat day that will kick off beginning yet another plan (the 4th this year): Cheat Your Way Thin, a plan I bought online a while ago, and never followed. But one that makes a lot of sense, given lifestyle considerations and the potential it has. One thing about this plan is how it is, in many ways, similar to both the 4-Hour Body Fat Loss and Natural Hormonal Enhancement plans. Similar, but different.
I think the problem with Phase 2 is primarily one of too many calories. While I disagree with the calories in/calories out theory of weight loss, in general, I may be at a point now where my metabolism can't handle too many calories - and I have no idea how many I am actually putting in every day - just a feeling that it is a LOT.
'Cheat Your Way Thin' has a mechanism for portion control that should work.
I will also figure out a way to get in more exercise...

Hi- I think going from diet to diet is a good thing. That way your body never gets used to one way of being. Next week ( or the week after) I am meeting with both Lissa and Ronnie. I'm looking forward to it. Will tell you when I do. Love you, Joan

I only change up diets when I am certain they are not helping me get where I want to go - whether that is losing or maintaining my weight.
All the plans I've tried - except this most recent one - actually incorporate changes in the eating plan to counter adaptation. That idea is, in fact, almost the entire basis of 'Cheat Your Way Thin' with its weekly 'cheat' day, designed to prevent a decline in leptin.
Please give Ronnie and Lissa my best. Are you getting together with both of them at the same time at any point? That might be interesting - I don't think they know each other.
Love you,
Ken
